How I Can Help
I will start by carrying out a dyslexia assessment using standardised tests which cover all ages from 6 years upwards. It will assess current levels of reading, spelling and writing as well as verbal memory and verbal processing, and assess how this may be affecting writing, reading and spelling and short term memory. This is necessary to establish a profile of strengths and weaknesses on which my teaching program will be based.
Each person with dyslexia is unique, so I use a tailored program to enable them to become fully literate, to flourish and reach their full potential. Using this structured method I can help improve literacy permanently.

Lessons
- All lessons are one-to-one and last for 60 or 90 minutes depending on the age and needs of the learner. Lessons are usually once a week but can be more frequent if necessary. I can work at weekends.
- Lessons take place in a quiet, dedicated teaching room at my home using specialist materials.
- Homework is given after every lesson and parents of younger learners will be asked to assist their child in the necessary writing, reading and spelling practice routines between lessons.
- For older learners/adults carefully targeted catch up lessons during the holidays are a good idea.
