About Me
I am a qualified and experienced Specialist Teacher for Dyslexia, living in Harpenden.
I hold a Postgraduate Certificate for Dyslexia Teaching and Structured Literacy Intervention from the University of York which gives me Approved Teacher Status with the British Dyslexia Association.
I am a member of The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS) and I conform to the PATOSS Code of Ethics, including the commitment to continuing professional development by attending training and other conference events. I am listed on the PATOSS index of suitably qualified specialist teachers.
I have privately tutored students since 2007 and have had success with learners of all ages including several non-readers, some of whom are now pursuing post-16 further education courses.
I originally qualified as a primary school teacher but moved into the Further Education Sector as a Learning Support and Key Skills Tutor at Barnfield College in Luton where I worked for nine years…before I took my dyslexia qualification.
